Post-conference Workshop "FOOD SUPPLEMENTATION IN FOOD ALLERGY AND IMMUNITY"

Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn organizes a post-conference workshop on "Food supplementation in food allergy and immunity"
The main information concerning the Conference and Workshop has been provided in the First circular of EUROFOODTOX V. We would like to to present the additional information concerning the workshop.
The workshop is to be held in Poland, Mierki near Olsztyn in picturesquely located Kormoran Hotel complex. Mierki is located approximately 35 km far from Olsztyn.
Favourable conditions, beautiful surroundings, excellent forests and unpolluted lake provide the excellent opportunity to held the Workshop.
Aware of the fact that the crucial element in solving problems of food allergy is a proper diet and food supplementation as well as proper food modification, we would like to organize the workshop on this specific topic.
The workshop planned tends towards working out the directions of future research, dietetic recommendations and directives for food industry in the field of the production of foods assigned for application in food allergy.
We would highly appreciate the participation of people working in different areas (food technologists, nutritionists, pharmaceutists, producers of hypoallergic foodstuffs and hypoantigenic food) in the workshop.

Programme and Schedule
30. Aug Arrival, registration (7 a.m.-2 p.m.) - Participants of Food Safety conference would joint after lunch break
Session A: Food allergens (afternoon meeting), (lectures and discussion would comprise the area of allergenicity of foods of plant and animal origin),

31. Aug Session B: Possibilities of the reduction of food allergenic properties (forenoon meeting), (lectures and discussion would comprise the area of biotechnologically (Saturday) and technologically processed food, chemically and physically modified food regarding the effect of the mentioned processes on allergenic properties of modified foods),

Session C: Production of hypoallergenic food (afternoon meeting), (session would be devoted to products which can effect the regulatory mechanisms of the immune systems in food allergy and achievements and progress in the production of hypoallergenic foodstuffs for children and aging consumers, food supplementation in food allergy in order to ensure a good state of health for the population).
