Research and implementation activity |
|
The major scientific objective of BIOANIREP Centre of Excellence is conducting interdisciplinary research and implementation works in the area of biotechnology and biology of reproduction. The Centre will be a place of designing new strategies/methods for reproduction control and animals breeding, as well as for the control of the health safety of food products of animal origin and thus protection of health of humans and animals. Investigations will be carried out in 4 thematic groups:
-
Advancement and application of bioengineering and biotechnology to improve the quality, wholesomeness and competitiveness of the production of food of animal origin.
-
Determination of the effect of reproduction disorders, mainly improper functioning of gonads, on mechanisms regulating functions of others organs and systems, significant intravitally and affecting health of both humans and animals (nervous, vascular, immune, digestive and urinary systems and neoplasia).
-
Searching for new, alternative to chemotherapy, therapeutic methods to be used in reproduction, rearing and breeding of farm animals and in treatment of neoplasmic diseases of humans and animals. These investigations will enable elaborating new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in reproduction disorders and neoplasmic diseases in animals and humans as well as inhibiting the growth of bacterial strains resistant to chemotherapeutics.
-
Application of advanced research tools, including bioengineering and biotechnology, to protect selected species of animals at risk of extinction.
