The latest issue of British "International Innovation" (February 2012), one of the leading journals aimed at the scientific, technology and research communities, features an interview with Prof. Mariusz Piskuła, coordinator of the REFRESH project, and Dr. Tomasz Jeliński, its coauthor, titled “Refreshing research potential”.
The interview offers a first-hand insight into the implementation process of the REFRESH project- ranging from its aims and objectives; its role in unlocking potential of the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research; and the influence it exerts on the socioeconomic development of the region of Warmia and Mazury.
Interview is accompanied by an article “Maintaining positive progress”, introducing the reader to familiarize with the functioning of the Institute and the opportunities it gains thanks to realization of the REFRESH project.

Advisory Board meeting of Refresh project |

The 2nd Advisory Board meeting will be organized in Gdańsk on October 6th and 7th, 2011 with the participation of the 14 national and foreign partners of the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Acadamy of Sciences in Olsztyn and invited guests. The objective of the project will be to assess its achievements during the last 12 months and to plan the forthcoming actions in 2012.
The meeting will be leaded by prof. A. Zięcik - Director of the Institute, prof. Roger Fenwick - Chairman of the Advisory Board and prof. Mariusz Piskuła – Project Coordinator.

Prof. Giżejewski participated in a five-day IUGB congress focused on the following topics:
-
human dimensions of game wildlife management, Interaction humans – wildlife;
-
methodologies, models and techniques, species extinctions and population dynamics,
-
veterinary aspects of wildlife and conservation, wildlife behavior and game species management,
-
wildlife law and policy.
The congress was attended by more than 300 game and wildlife scientists from 35 countries of the world. The above-mentioned program allowed to acquire an overview of a new situation in the wildlife of different countries presented in the topics elaborated upon. |
